Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Widely considered as one of the top three players throughout the history of the fabled Montreal Canadiens along with Rocket Richard and Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur enjoyed tremendous success during his Habs tenure, capturing five Stanley Cup championships, three Art Ross Trophies, two Hart Memorials and the Conn Smythe. Enjoying a National Hockey League career that spanned a total of 1126 games and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988, Lafleur would come out of retirement in the late-1980s, suiting up with the New York Rangers and Quebec Nordiques during that time before retiring again for good in 1991. Offered here, we present this stick used by Le Demon Blond during the period of the early-1980s as a member of Les Canadiens. A Sher-Wood S.O.P. 5030 model twig with "LAFLEUR G." and "10" stamped over the upper shaft, the stick retains Guy's white tape job around the handle/knob and black around the blade. Void of a date stamp on the underside of the shaft/heel and signed by Lafleur over the lower shaft on the forehand side with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue, a Classic Authentics hologram has been affixed to the backside of the lower shaft as well. Displaying good game-use via a large number of black marks throughout the length of the shaft, some other small marks and abrasions are found throughout as well while both sides of the blade tape show small tears and some various marks.
