Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
A third-round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Greg McKegg spent
five years in the Leafs’ system, primarily playing with the Toronto Marlies, where he was one of
their top forwards. The jersey was worn during his pre-rookie season, including road games on January
2nd and January 3rd, 2015 with McKegg only playing three games with the Leafs that season.
The Toronto Maple Leafs team Letter of Authenticity (LOA) that accompanies this jersey
confirms that this blue #36 jersey was worn during the 2014-15 NHL season. A size 56 flag tag
is present in the collar, while a Reebok patch is affixed to the reverse neckline. The attached
team store tag identifies this jersey as a team-issued piece, and a the inventory patch
sewn into the rear tail displays the ID number “E-0241” matching that of the COA.
Designed in the Leafs’ classic blue home jersey style, this jersey features a stitched-on Maple
Leafs team crest across the chest, reinforced fight strap, and single-layer white twill numerals
displaying McKegg’s number “36” on the sleeves and back. His last name “MCKEGG” is sewn in
matching white lettering across the affixed nameplate at the top of the back. Retro-style Maple
Leafs logo patches are placed atop both shoulders, adding a vintage-inspired touch to the
design.
Game wear is light, with the only noticeable markings being stick marks on the lower front of the
jersey.
