Guarding the Edmonton Oilers crease for over a decade and a half from the 1980s through the mid-1990s when combining their careers, we have sticks used by HOFer Grant Fuhr along with Bill Ranford, with both dating to the club’s 1990 Stanley Cup championship era, circa 1989-90. First, the Fuhr is a Sher-Wood PMPG model in solid blue with white accents, with “Fuhr G” and “31” stamped over the upper shaft, along with the original white tape over the blade and handle. The Ranford is a Chimo PLPG 555 model in white with blue accents, with “Ranford 30” stamped-on, with the original white tape over the blade and handle.
The Fuhr has a few rips to the blade tape and puck marks, with a small chip at the tip, along with red goal post paint transfer on the top edge of the handle. There are also a few chips to the paddle, with additional paint transfer to the shaft. The Ranford is missing some tape from the blade, with heavy use exhibited including wear to the underside of the blade and heavy chipping to the paddle. There is also additional wear along edges of the shaft, with paint transfer visible as well.
