Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024

Presented to legendary superstar Gordie Howe as an honourary member of the Detroit Red Wings and displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame from 2019-22, this dazzling 10K white gold and diamond creation by Intergold commemorates the Red Wings' 2008 Stanley Cup title. Nicklas Lidstrom became the first European-trained captain to raise the Cup after the Wings, led by Conn Smythe winner Henrik Zetterberg and the stellar goaltending of Chris Osgood, delayed Pittsburgh's title aspirations and claimed their fourth championship since 1997. Size 15 with a hulking weight of 54.9 grams, the top features a Red Wings logo over the Stanley Cup, both encrusted with diamonds and positioned over an additional bed of diamonds serving as a rink, with "Stanley Cup Champions" encircling the bezel in slanted, raised letters. The left shank has "Howe" above, with an NHL shield logo beneath along with four diamonds, while the right shank sports a diamond-encrusted Stanley Cup with eleven additional Cups listing each year the team has won the Cup. The inner band of this spectacular ring is stamped "Intergold 10K" and engraved "Family". Regarding condition, just light wear is exhibited with minimal scratching and a couple very tiny dings to the edges along the band. Absolutely breathtaking in appearance, with the glimmering shine of brilliant diamonds almost blinding, the ring is accompanied by an LOA signed by Mark and Marty Howe along with a Certificate of Appraisal from Intergold that details the exact amount and cut of the diamonds included.
Addendum; Please take note that there is an error on the Intergold certificate of appraisal white states that the ring is made of 14K white gold when in fact it is made of 10K white gold.
