Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Playing his college hockey with the Bowling Green Falcons in the NCAA between 1981 and 1984, Garry Galley would help the school to its only national championship to date in 1984 after being drafted 100th overall by the Los Angeles Kings at the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Going on to play in a total of 1149 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of the Los Angeles Kings, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders, Galley would be selected to a pair of NHL All-Star Games in 1991 and 1994 respectively. Offered here, we present this Bruins jersey worn by Galley during the 1990 Stanley Cup Finals against the Edmonton Oilers. Made by CCM and having had both the CCM and NHL shield emblems embroidered into the reverse hem, a Maska Air-Knit label is affixed to the inner collar and the jersey measures out to roughly a size "52". Decorated over the front of the jersey with Boston's famed spoked "B" team crest in a layered tackle twill style, the all-important 1990 Stanley Cup Finals patch has been sewn on over the right breast. Also sporting matching alternate logo patches atop of both shoulders, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Galley's number "28" in dual layer yellow-over-white tackle twill numerals while "Galley" has been spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its fight strap on the interior and displaying good game-use throughout, stick marks exist over the front, reverse and both sleeves while board burns, small unrepaired holes/cuts, team repairs and heavy pilling exist over both sleeves/cuffs as well. Having had a tonal Custom Crafted logo added over the reverse hem, with board burns and red board paint transfers seen above, the interior of the jersey displays pilling as well as salting in the snaps of the fight strap. An LOA will accompany the piece.
