The original signature of Boris Yeltsin, the first president of the Russian Federation, sits inside the front cover of this Russian-language book. Yeltsin, who died in 2007, served as Russia’s first president following the fall of the Soviet Union. He won 57 percent of the popular vote in the Russian republic’s historic democratic presidential election on June 12, 1991, and served two turbulent and tumultuous terms until his resignation on December 31, 1999, when he appointed Vladimir Putin as his successor. Yeltsin’s bold black marker signature and notations appear on the top of the first page inside the front cover of the small hardcover book that measures 6 3/4" x 5 1/4" and has text entirely in Russian.
