Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
The oldest fan club in the NHL, the Blackhawk Standby’s was founded during the war in 1944 by spectators that all shared seating within the first balcony at hallowed Chicago Stadium. The club annually selects a Black Hawks player they deem worthy of MVP status, and present the lucky recipient with a trophy. We have the example presented to HOF superstar Ed Belfour, in 1990-91. At approx 8” in height, a small trophy bowl sits mounted to a finished and tiered wooden base, with a plaque affixed listing the particulars including “Most Valuable”, “Ed Belfour 1990-91” and “Blackhawk Standby’s Jan 6th 1992”. The keepsake exhibits even toning/oxidation to the mounted bowl, with just light wear to the base. A signed LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany this desirable trophy.
