Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

The highest paid player in the CFL after signing a two-year contract with the BC Lions in 1990, Doug Flutie threw for a record 6,619 yards on 466 completions, with this leading to a million-dollar signing with the Calgary Stampeders. Flutie would lead the Stamps to the 1992 Grey Cup, where he was named MVP, with a pair of additional titles with Toronto before signing with the NFL's Buffalo Bills. From the season the superstar threw a record 48 touchdown passes, we have a Stampeders jersey worn by Flutie in 1994, specifically in the Oct 30, 1994 match vs Hamilton – won by Calgary 47-10. A Starter label with “L” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an additional Starter label over the front left tail along with a “94” year swatch and “48 Long” tag. Featuring Flutie’s “20” rubberized over the front, shoulders and verso, team emblems in matching material grace each sleeve, with an embroidered CFL crest over the front neckline. An LOA from the Stampeders will accompany.
Flutie has signed the reverse “2”, with the signature somewhat worn. Seeing game-use for just a single contest, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition, with a bit of wear to the shoulder numerals. Addendum; the jersey has a large team repair on the back between the numbers.
