Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

Speedy Dick Duff contributed to two Stanley Cup victories during his 8-plus seasons in Toronto, scoring the Cup-winning goal in 1962, with Hall of Fame induction occurring for the Kirkland Lake native in 2006. This 1950's original artwork by renowned sports artist Tex Coulter was featured on the cover of a Hockey "Blueline" magazine of which the former football star Coulter was the artistic director. At 14 ½” x 18” and featuring a wonderfully depicted image of the star that saw use on his 1957-58 and 1958-59 Parkhurst cards, “Tex” appears near the lower right of the image, with this unique painting begging for a quality frame.
A couple light pencil marks are visible, with a small tear, corner wear, pinholes and some light staining/discolouration all present. There is also glue residue over the upper reverse.
