Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Finishing sixth in the AL East in 1970, the Washington Senators didn't have a lot to cheer about, but the club did boast a pair of HOFers coaching in the dugout, with Nellie Fox and manager Ted Williams. This ball that comes from 1950 Stanley Cup champion Max McNab's personal collection has been team-signed by the '70 Sens including Williams, and it is accompanied by a vintage autograph booklet with Williams signature. An Official American League Joe Cronin ball, with 23 signing including Williams over the sweet spot in ballpoint (smudge to the "M"), along with Frank Howard, Lee Maye, Mike Epstein, Joe Grzenda, Del Unser, Dave Nelson, Casey Cox and others, with clubhouse signatures of Bernie Allen, Rick Reckard, Ed Strout, Tim Cullen, Aurelio Rodriguez and possibly others. The signatures present very well with no issues, with a light coat of toning to the ball. The autograph album has a few pages removed, and it currently contains just the Williams for signatures, with the nicely flowing blue ballpoint autograph as dark as the day it was penned. A JSA Auction LOA will accompany for the autograph album signature.
