Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
One of only 26 recipients of the prestigious James Norris Trophy since the award’s first winner was honoured in 1954, Doug Harvey saw high-level NHL action throughout the Original Six era, with appearances at each and every All-Star Game between 1951 and 1962. We have a twice-signed display featuring the 1973 HOF inductee. The June 1967 cover of Sport Revue has been double-matted and centralized, with an embroidered Habs crest placed to the left, and vintage black and white postcard at right. The magazine has been signed over his image, with the ballpoint signature somewhat light, most likely due to a weak pen, while the David Bier-embossed postcard has been signed to the right of the image, with a beautiful blue ballpoint example the result. With no issues for the crest and what looks like light wear to the magazine, the postcard exhibits a few pinholes at the top including a resulting circular indentation, with light wear at each corner. Framed to full dimensions of approx. 20 ½” x 32 ½”, this display is begging for prominent placement in any Harvey, HOF or Habs holdings… say that fast three times!
