Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Joining the Erie Otters after being granted "Exceptional Player" status by Hockey Canada, with this allowing the young superstar to enter the major junior fray a year early, Connor McDavid shined during his inaugural season with the Otters in 2012-13, averaging better than a-point-a-game throughout his first campaign, which included a 15-point streak that began after just his second career game. McDavid would be crowned Rookie of the Year in the OHL for his performance, and was the first Otters players to be honoured as such. From his first season in the OHL with Erie, we offer a signed Otters jersey worn by the young superstar. A Reebok/CHL label is affixed to the collar along with a second label with “56” sizing, with a CHL crest on the reverse hem and OHL crest over the right breast. Styled with a multi-coloured Otters team crest with embroidered detailing, “97” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “McDavid” across the attached nameplate in matching material. McDavid has signed the reverse “7” in marker, with just slight bleeding to the signature. Purchased by our consignor at the Erie Otters 11th Annual Golf Outing Champions for Education golf tournament, a handwritten thank you letter for the purchase from the Otters will accompany, along with a team COA.
Showing just light game-use with a few marks and burns over the front and sleeves, some stitching has come loose at the base of the reverse “9”, with pilling to the interior collar and behind the team crest.
