Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The back-up to Jacques Plante for most of his early career, Charlie Hodge won the Vezina Trophy in 1964, with a second win in 1966 with fellow Habs netminder Gump Worsley. We have a stick used by the Lachine native from later in his career, circa late-1960s while with the Oakland Seals. A Northland Glass Fused Pro model, “Hodge” appears on the upper shaft along with his preferred lie, with dual stamps from team supplier Berkeley Iceland. The stick retains both its original tape over the blade, paddle and knob along with all three striping accents over the paddle. Great use is exhibiting, with heavy wear to the under side of the blade, along with some cracking, with a small piece missing along the toe section.
