Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Released in 1995 and on the radar of serious collectors, world renowned comic creator Charles M. Schultz issued a series of limited-edition lithographs of his iconic Peanuts characters, notably Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Woodstock. We have a gorgeous hockey-themed example offered, with “Circle the Zambonis”, featuring all three aforementioned characters. At 9 ½” x 18 ½” (exposed), each character is perfectly depicted, with a green-touqued Snoopy grasping a hockey stick and Woodstock cleaning the ice. Numbered “208-500” along the lower left, Schultz has greatly augmented the lithograph with a large flowing pencil signature along the bottom right. Triple-matted and framed to full dimensions of 17 ½” x 26 ½”, both the litho and frame remain in wonderful condition.
