The '72 Series Canadian team were the recipients of the first annual Canadian Hockey Awards in 1996 along with Wayne Gretzky and Dave King. The top of the award features a die-cut Hockey Canada logo cut in Plexiglas and which is set onto a 7 ½” x 13” wooden base which has a height of approx. 3”. A small silver-colored maple leaf plaque applied to the front of the trophy reads “1996, 1972 Canada-Russia Series Team” with a gold-colored plaque affixed above it giving the details of the award; “Team Canada Award, To a team for their outstanding playing ability and international experience while maintaining the fundamentals of sportsmanship and fair play”. The award exhibit a few very minor defects and remains in superb condition. This is the first example of this trophy that we have handled. A signed LOA from Rod Seiling will accompany.
