Terrific find here pictures several men who starred on ice surfaces in the early part of the 20th century. This photo was taken in March of 1907 in Winnipeg, where these Montreal Wanderers recaptured the Stanley Cup after having lost it two months earlier to the Kenora Thistles. Immediately after capturing the ECAHA league title with a perfect 10-0-0 record, the Wanderers submitted a challenge to the Cup trustees, with a two-game-total-goal series being played March 23rd and 25th in Winnipeg because of unsatisfactory rink conditions in Kenora. At roughly 8 ½” x 10”, 10 team members are pictured, with the image featuring text along the bottom including “Wanderer Hockey Club” and “Winnipeg 1907”, with a small building as the backdrop, possibly the Auditorium Rink.
