Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Making its debut at the 1991 San Marino Grand Prix, the B191 was Benetton’s Formula One race car utilized during the 1991 F1 season and at the beginning of 1992. Featuring the now standard raised nose first pioneered by Tyrrell in 1990, the car competed in the first three races of 1992, with then-newcomer Michael Schumacher the lead driver. We have a side pod engine cover that was used on the B191. At roughly 17 ½” x 22 ½” (at the widest points) and in solid royal blue, the side pod cover has “T2” and “OS” stenciled in white over the underside, with some hardware still affixed. Scratches are present along with surface abrasions, with decals intact over the top section. An F1 legend, Schumacher holds the Formula One record for consecutive titles with 5 (2000-2004). A Certificate of Authenticity from the Benetton Formula 1 Racing Team will accompany.
