Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Only the fourth NHL player in history to net 500 career goals, Jean Beliveau remains one of the most venerated of past Montreal Canadiens, with his 17 Stanley Cup championships as both a player and executive never to be matched. A rarely-seen style from the 1970s/80s, we have a large group of 90 signed cards from the iconic superstar, with each featuring an on-ice image of big Jean in his Habs uniform. Just slightly under the standard postcard size at 3 ½” x 5”, each blank-backed card features a small box over the upper right, with each blue ink signature thusly placed. Three of the cards have no box and have been signed across the front, with a pair having signatures that have been gone-over by Beliveau due to a weak pen. With the majority of the signatures displaying well, there is just light handling wear to the cards themselves. An LOA from the Beliveau family will accompany.
