The Montreal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup for the 24th time in the spring of 1993, and defenseman J.J. Daigneault wore this jersey right in the thick of their conquest! Daigneault wore this white home jersey during the Stanley Cup final, including Game 5 when the Habs clinched the Cup at the Forum. It is photo-matched to Getty Images photo #56897809, which shows Daigneault beside Kirk Muller hoisting the Stanley Cup over his head during the postgame celebration in the Canadiens dressing room. The scarce 1993 Stanley Cup final patch is affixed to a swatch of knit material that was sewn over the NHL’s commemorative Stanley Cup 100th anniversary patch on the right breast. Comes with J.J. Daigneault’s signed LOA.
Daigneault’s 1992-93 Canadiens Stanley Cup finals game-worn jersey is photo-matched by the two loose blue threads in the middle of the CH crest on the front, and by the two loose red threads on the “8” in the No. 48 on the right sleeve. Size 52 flag tag hangs in the back of the neck along with a well-laundered Maska Ultrafil flag tag. Game wear includes inner pilling on the sleeves on and beside the edges of the elbow gussets and inside the rear tail below the fight strap, light black marks on the front above the CH crest and on the left breast, and on the sleeves. There are board burns and small unrepaired burn holes on the sleeves, with a bit of blue paint transfer on the back of the left sleeve, a tiny spot of red paint transfer just to the right of the upper portion of the “8” on the left sleeve, a bit more red paint transfer on the back of the right sleeve, and board burns and red paint transfer on both the left and right rear hems.
