This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A member of the prestigious Team Canada squad that represented the hockey-centric nation at the famous Summit Series against the formidable Soviets, Red Berenson contributed an important assist in Game 6 of the series, on a go-ahead goal by Yvan Cournoyer. Hailing from his personal collection, we have a great group of Summit Series items including a “Team of the Century” team-signed jersey and stick, a pair of lithographs by renowned artist Daniel Parry, 2 Team Canada souvenir jerseys and a pair of Team Canada souvenir jackets. A signed LOA from Red Berenson will accompany.
The stick is a CCM “Heritage” model, with a “Team of the Century” decal over the toe section of the blade. 23 have signed in red marker, including HOFers Dionne, Gilbert, Lapointe, Savard and the Esposito brothers, along with Berenson, Awrey, Ellis, Henderson, Parise, Seiling, Stapleton, White and others. The signed jersey has Dream Weaver labeling with size “L” (50), with tackle twill letters and numbers, with a “Team of the Century” crest over the right breast. 21 have signed in black marker across the reverse including HOFers Gilbert, Mikita, Ratelle, Dryden, Sinden and the Esposito brothers, along with Berenson, Awrey, Ellis, Guevremont, Hull, Hadfield, Mahovlich, Martin, Parise, Seiling, Stapleton, White and others. The signatures display well, with no issues for the jersey. Next, the lithographs are matching in design, with each made by Daniel Parry in 2002, with cameos of team members encompassing the Canadian Parliament. The larger is roughly 21 ½” x 25” and is numbered “249/1972”, the smaller 17” x 20”, with both signed in pencil by the artist. This is followed by both home and away jerseys (both size 56) matching the signed example in style with tackle twill identifiers and “Team of the Century” patches over the right breasts. Both jackets are “L” in size, with labeling present, with an example in solid black with a “Team of the Century” crest over the left breast, while the second jacket (grey with black sleeves) has both the crest over the left breast and also over the reverse. An LOA for the numbered Parry print will accompany.
