Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

Scoring 33 points in 64 contests during the 1979-80 NHL season, Bob Gainey would earn his third of four-consecutive Frank J. Selke Trophies as the NHL’s best defensive forward, and is currently the only player in history to secure the coveted award four consecutive times. At approx 10 ½” x 12” (at the widest points) and rarely offered, this Frank J. Selke Trophy plaque awarded to Gainey sports a silver miniature of the trophy rising from the center, surrounded by an NHL shield crest with mounted pairs of silver hockey sticks and black enameled pucks. The engraved silver plate beneath lists the particulars including “Frank J. Selke Trophy”, “Winner 1979-80” and “Bob Gainey”. Originating from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Bob Gainey will accompany this attractive Frank J. Selke Trophy plaque.
Exhibiting light surface wear to both the plaque itself and the mounted components, there is heavier oxidation to the engraved plate, with some darkening around edges.
