Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Numerous cards looking like they were removed from packs yesterday highlight this inviting set of 1968-69 Topps cards, destined for a lover of higher grade material. We did not spot a single crease while admiring the group, dominated by NM, NM+ and NM-MT examples, with NM-MT+ and MINT cards also present and to be discovered and submitted! Unfortunately, two key cards are exceptions, with the Bobby Orr lowered to EX-MT by touches at the four corners and the Bernie Parent rookie card, featuring a diamond cut, exhibiting a not-straight cut along the top edge, but otherwise NM. The #121-Checklist is unmarked and NM, with a similar to the Parent yet more subtle right edge. Overall, centering is good, with original gloss a real treat and only a few cards with gum/wax stains. From the first year that players from 1967 expansion teams were featured on hockey cards, with their colorful entries joining those of legends Howe, Hull, Sawchuk, Hall, Beliveau, Mikita, Esposito and other Hall of Famers to form a fascinating lineup, these cards will delight when they arrive in the mail.
