Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

Yes, miscut is the Bobby Orr rookie card here, but a nice bright crease-free example it is, with the bottoms of yellow letters making their way in to the top border to reveal that Bobby Hull’s Leading Scorer card was the one directly above the Orr RC before the original sheet was cut up into individual cards back in the day. PSA’s grade of VG-EX 4 accompanies the qualifier, while a majority of similarly-attractive raw cards joins the slabbed Orr specimen. A rather pronounced curvature to the cards is to note, with however some pleasing original gloss striking the beholder. VG+ and VG-EX cards look to dominate, with some nicer EX and EX+ entries to discover and not many creases. Creased notables include 1-Blake and 109-Howe, while the Sinden RC is, like the Orr, miscut. Checklists are filled-in but not abused, while over two dozen cards are affected by likely-removable wax stains, including 63-Esposito, 112-Hull and 13-Sawchuk. Classic collectibles from the last season of the Original Six era await the high bidder.
