Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Splendid opportunity here for vintage wrapper enthusiasts with this thought-provoking relic. It may have originally held the rookie card of "giant" Jean Beliveau or legend-in-the-making goalie Gump Worsley. Or, maybe the beautiful rendition of Rocket Richard or scoring champ Gordie Howe, or Terry Sawchuk. Parkhurst cards increased in size in 1953-54 and indeed must have seemed giant compared to the two previous issues. Fragile wax wrapper has survived without any edge tears and has normal fold lines. A touch of toning/browning is visible in the upper region. Desirable collectible measures 5" by just under 6" and will be an outstanding addition to a wrapper/Parkhurst shrine. Oh, to be able to go back in time, walk into a corner store where Maurice Richard appeared on the Parkhurst display box, fork over some nickels and dimes and then bust open packs of '53-54 Parkies, while tucking the wrappers neatly away! Of course, if more people saved them, they wouldn't be worth hundreds, eh?
