Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Only the third teenage goaltender in history to lead his team to a Calder Cup championship, Carey Price helped the Hamilton Bulldogs slip past the Hershey Bears in five games during the 2007 AHL finals, and would earn the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy, posting a 2.06 GAA and .936 save percentage. This stick originates from 2007 (“20 AVR 2007” date stamp), and could have been used with either the Bulldogs during the AHL playoffs that spring (April 18th to June 7th), or with the Montreal Canadiens during his rookie campaign that fall, early-on in the 2007-08 NHL season. A Reebok model with “C Price” stamped to the upper shaft, the stick retains Carey’s original white tape on the blade and blue cloth with reinforcing white strands over the handle and upper shaft. Light but definitive game-use is exhibited with puck marks to the blade as well as a tear to the tape, with a few additional marks to the paddle and shaft.
