Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
The trade that brought Brendan Shanahan to Detroit from Hartford early in the 1996-97 season, (for Paul Coffey and Keith Primeau), paid huge dividends for the Red Wings as the game's premier power forward helped Detroit to three Stanley Cups in the next six years. Shanny wore this red Koho airknit jersey during 2001-02 as screening on the inner rear hem indicates and the tag also pegs this one as coming from "Set 1". The size 56 flag tag is there in the collar below a screened white number "2". Numerous black marks and general filth litter the lower front and a large dark stick mark runs through the alternate's "A" on the upper chest. We count 11 stitched team repairs on this one. A great jersey from the high scoring left winger who was inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013. A certificate of authenticity from Hockeytown Authentics will be included along with their original price tag (sticker shock!).
