First strengthening the team from behind the bench, Bob Gainey would take the helm of the Minnesota North Stars upon returning from coaching in Europe in 1990-91, and by 1996, shortly after relocating to Dallas, the Hall of Fame star was serving in a more important role with the club, as General Manager. The Stars would shine with five consecutive divisional championships from 1996-97 to 2000-01, with a pair of back-to-back Stanley Cup finals achieved along with the first franchise championship, in 1999. This Dallas Stars Division Champions 14K gold and diamond ring was presented to Gainey for the club’s status as consecutive five-time division champions! Size 10 with an approx weight of 20 grams, a Stars logo sits raised over the face, with a row of shimmering diamonds added beneath along with “Division” and “Champion” on each side in raised, sloping letters, with “97-98-99-00-01” above. The right shank has a full Stars team logo, while the left has “BG” for “Bob Gainey” in large, raised letters. The inner band is stamped “14K”. Exhibiting just light wear, there are a few very minor scratches visible along the outer band, with the ring remaining in gorgeous overall condition. The only example of its kind we have ever offered, the ring originates from Bob Gainey’s personal collection, with his signed LOA to accompany.
