1979-80 was a big year for the Quebec Nordiques, first coming off an impressive 41-35-5 record the previous season and a second-place finish, they would then play their first season as one of the four previous WHA clubs chosen for selection to the NHL. This Quebec Nordiques jersey was game-worn by Bob Fitchner during the 1979-80 NHL season. Well-used garment, it has the proper Sandow tagging in the collar with additional Sandow logo on the bottom hem, with the team crest, sleeve numbers and Fleur de Lys emblems all rubberized. A great game-used sweater from Quebec’s inaugural NHL season with included LOA.
This Quebec Nordiques jersey worn by Bob Fitchner during the club’s inaugural NHL season shows heavy use, with half a dozen black marks on the lower front as well as a few board burns with resulting hole just above the bottom hem. There is also a huge stick mark on the right side of the upper chest and both sleeves show additional burns and marks including a 1” hole near the right sleeve’s number and large burn with rip on the cuff. With individual screened white letters on a blue mesh nameplate and no fight strap present, this jersey also exhibits 3 fairly large team repairs, with 2 on the left sleeve and 1 on the right. There is also some peeling and wear to the rubberized Fleur de Lys emblems and sleeve numbers.
