Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
This terrific trophy plaque is from the 1987 Canada Cup, an incredible international tournament that offered the world some of the best hockey ever played. Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux led a powerhouse Team Canada to a tightly-contested victory over one of the greatest Russian teams ever. Presented to members of Team Canada 1987, this wooden plaque went to head equipment manager Barrie Stafford. It measures 7 1/2" x 11" with a chromed cast metal half maple leaf supported by a 1” tall wooden base. Some scuffs and marks to the wood plaque do not diminish the display of this historic keepsake from the legendary 1987 Canada Cup. Comes with Barrie Stafford’s signed LOA.
“Coupe Canada Cup” plaque sits on the front of the base.
