Finishing in second place in the Patrick Division in 1982-83, the New York Islanders dispatched of Washington, the Rangers and Boston before eliminating Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers in four straight games in the Stanley Cup finals. The Isles Swedish star Anders Kallur would score an impressive fifteen points during the postseason with three goals, including in Game 3 of the finals. For the team's status as Wales Conference playoff champions, members of the Islanders received miniature Prince of Wales trophies to commemorate their fine campaign, with recipient “Anders Kallur” engraved along with "Prince of Wales Trophy" on a metal plaque applied to one side of the 2-inch high wooden base, while engraving on a second plaque over the reverse reads "NHL Champions – New York Islanders – 1982-83". Four silver-plated hockey sticks rise up from the base to support a cup with removable lid, giving the award a total height of 12". There is heavy oxidation to the engraved plaques along with some wear, and a few minor scratches and blemishes to the surface, with the trophy displaying beautifully. Originating from Anders Kallur's personal collection, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
