One of the first Europeans to dominate in North America - along with his countryman Ulf Nillson, Anders Hedberg first appeared for the WHA’s Winnipeg Jets in 1974-75, helping lead the team to a pair of Avco Cup championships in his four seasons with the club. We have a Jets alternate captain’s jersey worn by the Swede in 1977-78, his final season in River City, where he secured an amazing 122 points in a mere 77 games. A Harv-Al Knit label with “XL” sizing is sewn to the collar, with the desirable mesh sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Featuring a rubberized Jets team crest and striping bands, “15” appears over the sleeves and verso in blue-over-red tackle twill, with “Hedberg” screened across the affixed nameplate. The alternate’s “A” is situated over the left breast, with a dual skate-lace fight strap utilized and intact.
Puck and stick marks cover the lower front and sleeves, with blue paint transfer near the right elbow. There is also wear to the rubberized crest and accents, along with heavy team repairs over the left shoulder and each lower sleeve.
