Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
The last triumph for the Bleu Blanc Rouge, the 1993 Montreal Canadiens crushed all opponents in the play-offs, losing only four games. This lot contains historic items from that very victory, with an actual sign and flag that was proudly used and displayed in the city’s Stanley Cup parade. Largely proportioned, the red vinyl parade sign measures in at 44” x 93”, and features a huge “CH” logo along with a silhouette of the Stanley Cup and “24”, to denote the franchises record wins. The banner also features the historic Canadiens logo, and measures out to an impressive 35” x 58” when unraveled. Attached to a wooden stick at slightly longer dimensions which includes handwritten notation, both items display extremely well, with just some light expected wear from their prior use to note. These items are partnered with two original 3 ½” x 5” photos of the celebration, with both items noticeable in the background. One photo features the team posing in front of the large sign, while the second photo features a number of Montreal police officers posing with a large Habs logo in front of the flag. Accompanying the lot are two Montreal centennial patches. These items will be the perfect pieces for use… dare we say, in the 2016 Stanley Cup parade! Special shipping arrangements will be required for this lot.
