A wonderful pairing of releases dating from the mid-1970s, south of the border Topps releases from the 1978-79 and 1979-80 seasons are featured here via this collection of cards from the two sets that totals out to 131 with all having been signed by the player pictured on the front. Paced by autographed examples of 30-Sittler (FR to G - creased and corner wear/dings), 34-Magnuson (EX to EX-MT), 76-Gainey (G to VG - corner wear all the way around), 78-McDonald (VG to VG-EX - light corner wear), 140-Cheevers (EX - slight corner wear) and 260-Lapointe (EX - small dings to the bottom left and top right corners) for the 1978-79 release, the 1979-80 set includes notables of 170-Gainey (EX - light border wear - signing date on reverse), 180-Perreault (EX to EX-MT - completely off-center - signing date on reverse), 200-Lafleur (EX - slight corner wear - signing date on reverse), 216-Mark Howe (EX-MT to NM), 225-Ratelle (VG to VG-EX - corner dings) and 230-Bossy (EX to EX-MT - small notch at top border), all of the cards just listed are signed in either blue ballpoint pen or marker ink with the autographs legible and largely displaying well despite a couple that show varying degrees of fading from age. Additionally, the prime dozen examples listed above are accompanied by a JSA Auction LOA.
Also included with the lot, is additional group of five (5) cards picturing men that would go on to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame that includes Lanny McDonald, Bobby Clarke and Bernie Federko from the 1979-80 release and Doug Wilson and Emile Francis from the 1978-79 release. Once again, the autograph condition story is largely the same as stated above with the cards in the overall grade ranges of EX to EX-MT or better for the most part with a few exceptions included as well. Please note, the JSA Auction LOA that accompanies the group is ONLY for the first twelve (12) cards listed above.
