Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

O-Pee-Chee's condition-sensitive issue from 1973-74 is represented here by an appealing ensemble, with not an obvious crease spotted while leafing through the 9-pocket pages in which it's housed. Random pulls wield numerous crisp clean cards, with the binder's majority appearing NM or better. The naked eye sees some intermittent white corners, with some examples "only" EX-MT or EX+. The Billy Smith rookie is perfectly centered and grades NM-MT, while a subtle small light vertical crease in the bottom border, a couple of white corner specs and white in the right edge of the Larry Robinson RC lowers it to VG+. Cards of Orr (NM+), Lafleur, Dionne and Perreault are NM or a tad better, with Schultz RC at EX-MT and RCs of Barber, O'Reilly and Nystrom, as well as Clarke and Esposito at EX+. Checklists are unmarked, with #116 at NM, #129 EX-MT and #263 EX+. A two-inch vertical tear (top edge) affects the 1st Series wrapper, with but a quarter-inch tear spotted in each of the two 2nd Series wrappers.
For those curious about the "backs", white backs outnumber grey backs 145 to 101.
