This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Striking lithograph captures members of Team Canada as they "stand on guard for thee" prior to a game in Moscow during the historic 1972 Canada-Russia Series. The Daniel Parry litho was limited to just 40 copies and only presented to players and executives involved in the 8-game battle for world hockey bragging rights. A total of 35 autographs are below the stunning piece of art and include those of Dryden, Henderson, Cournoyer, Clarke, Dionne, Mikita, Ratelle, Savard, Lapointe, the Mahovlichs, the Espositos and coaches Sinden and Ferguson. Professionally matted and framed, the finest lithograph ever produced to commemorate the series is numbered 34/40 and was presented to Marcel Dionne who was assigned sweater #34 for the series. Marcel's signed LOA will accompany this magnificent, thought-provoking masterpiece.
