Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
From the iconic Summit Series, we have four commemorative coins with two copper examples, along with a pair of silver in their original display boxes. At 2” in diameter, each coin features both participants flags with “Canada vs USSR” on the front, and generic players representing each team on reverse. The two silver coins are both stamped sterling along the edge, with three additional hallmarks along with “01632” on one, and “00163” on the other. Both silver coins exhibit tarnishing, with all four coins showing handling wear, including surface marks and scratches. Both silver coins are also accompanied by their original presentation boxes made by Wellings, with “Canada – U.S.S.R. Hockey Canada 1972”, with one of the boxes signed by Vladislav Tretiak.
