Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Still recognized as the greatest international hockey tournament in history, the 1972 Canada-Russia Series - forever known as the Summit Series, allowed Canada to reinforce our traditional dominance of the sport. This lot includes a stick blade with mounted coin and display stand team signed by Team Canada, 10 signed 1991 Future Trends cards and Team Canada and Team Russia roster posters. The stick blade has the limited-edition number handwritten of 10/200, with 27 signing in dark ink on one side, including Cashman, Redmond, Henderson, Hadfield, Ellis, Glennie, Mikita, White, Mahovlich brothers, Tallon, Savard, Parise, Seiling, Awrey, Martin, Sinden, Dionne, Hull, Park, Lapointe, Gilbert, Cournoyer, Guevremont, Stapleton, P. Esposito and Berenson. The signatures display well despite being somewhat bunched up, with a 1972 coin inserted at the tip of the blade. The plexiglass display has a puck with Team of the Century logo to mount the blade, with a Team Canada photo as the backdrop and a Hockey heritage COA on the reverse. The signed cards will come with a JSA Auction LOA and include Pierre Trudeau, Dryden, P. Esposito/Tretiak, Henderson/Tretiak, Tretiak (2 different), Mikita, Berman, White and Parise. The poster are approx 24" x 36 with each showing caricature portrait images with bios of each player (light wear to the pair).
