A cool collection of 7 “Original Six” Art Ross NHL game pucks from the era that saw team logos make their debut. This baker’s half dozen features two Canadiens, two Red Wings, and single Maple Leafs, Rangers and Black Hawks pucks. The latter three and one of the Red Wings pucks are 1958-62 pucks, the first NHL official game pucks to feature rubberized team logos on the face. The other Red Wings puck is a curiosity that features a 1958-62 reverse and a 1966-68 red logo front. There is a 1962-64 Canadiens puck with part of the top of the rubber-crested octagonal NHL reverse chipped, and a 1967-68 Canadiens puck has the Converse reverse.
The 1967-68 Canadiens Converse reverse puck is wonderfully preserved, with the 1958-62 Maple Leafs and the Red Wings red logo puck also in very nice condition. In addition to the previously noted condition of the 1962-64 Canadiens puck, the 1958-62 Red Wings puck has a big chip missing on the right edge of the face, the 1958-62 Rangers puck has several chips on around the edge of the face, and the 1958-62 Black Hawks puck has a chip/gouge on the right edge of the face and a few chips to the edge of the reverse that has some wear to the NHL rubberized orange octagon, which has a tiny bit missing on the bottom left corner.
