Discovered in packs while the Detroit Red Wings were heading towards a record seventh straight regular season championship and a fourth Stanley Cup title in six years were Parkhurst cards like these with the complete 157-card master set, featuring both the normal and lucky premium back variations, up on the auction block here with 156 of the 157 examples graded by PSA (the other is slabbed by SGC). Currently sitting as the 3rd current finest and 4th all-time finest assembly on the PSA Set Registry, it is important to note that the set shows that it is only 99.36% complete on the registry due to the fact that card #67 of Leo Reise with the Lucky Premium back is graded by SGC (VG/EX+ 4.5) so it doesn't appear on the PSA set registry for this set but alas, the set is very much complete. Carrying a GPA Weighted of 7.28, the set also has a GPA with Top Pop Bonuses of 7.35 and an overall set rating of 7.32.
Paced by the key rookie card of 1976 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Johnny Bower, who proudly sports a NM-MT 8 mark over his PSA label, significant cards joining the man known as "The China Wall" include; Maurice Richard (PSA NM 7), Jean Beliveau (PSA NM 7), Terry Sawchuk (PSA NM-MT 8), Gordie Howe (PSA NM 7) and Tim Horton (PSA NM-MT 8). Also including the likes of 1-Gerry McNeil (Regular Back - EX-MT 6 / Lucky Premium Back - NM 7), 2-Dickie Moore (Regular Back - NM 7 / Lucky Premium Back - NM 7), 8-Boom Boom Geoffrion (Regular Back - NM-MT 8), 14-Doug Harvey (Regular Back - NM-MT 8), 16-Harry Lumley (Regular Back - EX-MT 6), 24-George Armstrong (Regular Back - NM-MT 8 / Lucky Premium Back - NM-MT 8), 29-Ted Kennedy (Regular Back - NM 7), 42-Red Kelly (Regular Back - NM- MT 8), 46-Ted Lindsay (Regular Back - NM-MT 8), 65-Johnny Bower (Lucky Premium Back - EX-MT 6), 70-Harry Howell (Regular Back - NM 7 / Lucky Premium Back - NM 7), 82-Fred Sasakamoose (Regular Back - NM-MT 8 / Lucky Premium Back - NM 7), 99-Placid Plante Foils Tireless Teeder (Regular Back - NM 7), 36-Alex Delvecchio (Regular Back - NM-MT 8), 92-Lum Stops Howe With Help Of Stewart's Stick (Regular Back - NM 7), 96-Terry Boots Out Teeder's Blast (Regular Back - NM-MT 8), 97-Reibel Tests Habs Rookie (Regular Back - NM-MT 8), 98-Plante Protects Against Slippery Sloan (Regular Back - NM-MT 8) and 100-Sawchuk Stops Boom Boom (Regular Back - NM 7).

With all the PSA holders remaining in excellent condition and largely free of flaws except for a small grouping that shows some minor scratches and scuffs, it also worth noting that a small number also have stickers affixed to the back of the holders as well. Don't miss out on this chance at one of the finest 1954-55 Parkhurst hockey card sets ever put together, made all that much more special by the inclusion of both the regular and Lucky Premium back offerings being present and accounted for in strikingly high-grade condition! Additionally, photos of all the cards have been taken and are available by e-mail request.
