Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Alex Delvecchio was one of the most durable and reliable players in NHL history. Spending his
entire 24-season career with the Detroit Red Wings, Delvecchio was a key figure on the
powerhouse teams that won three Stanley Cups in the 1950s (1952, 1954, and 1955). He
played a crucial supporting role alongside legends like Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, and Sid Abel
during Detroit’s dynastic run. After Abel was traded to Chicago, Delvecchio stepped in to center
the famed “Production Line,” maintaining Detroit’s dominance with his elite play. A three-time
Lady Byng Trophy winner, Delvecchio retired with 1,281 career points, ranking among the
all-time leaders at the time. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1977.
This Alex Delvecchio rookie card, graded PSA 7, is one of just 43 in this grade, with only 60
graded higher out of 375 submissions. The PSA holder has a few minor scratches on both sides
but remains in excellent overall condition.
