Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

Issued a season after his C55 rookie card and from the more elusive C57 set of 1912-13 is this treasure, picturing Georges Vezina relatively early in his illustrious career, although the short write-up on the back reads "Has been with Canadiens for several seasons." In fact, 1912-13 was only his third with the Habs, who he would backstop to the club's first Stanley Cup championship three years later. The first numbered card in a set of 50, this example recently was slabbed FR 1.5 (MK) by PSA, with a few black/blue marks on the reverse leading to the qualifier. Picturing the Chicoutimi, Quebec native who would play 325 consecutive games for Montreal and the key card in the C57 ensemble, this intriguing relic awaits your tobacco card stash.
