Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Scoring the game-winning goal at the 1996 NHL All-Star Game in Boston and named the game’s MVP, Ray Bourque plotted the decider at 19:22 of the 3rd period (assisted by Verbeek and Messier) giving the Eastern All-Stars a 5-4 win. We have the very stick Bourque used to score the winner, and it hails from his personal collection. A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model, “Bourque 77” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with “Handcrafted exclusively for Raymond Bourque” on the underside. The stick retains the original white tape over the handle/knob, with the blade tape removed to facilitate the inscription “All Star Winning Goal”. “AS” has also been written on the lower underside, with the stick showing just light use, with surface wear to the graphics over the shaft. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
