Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Ranked No. 23 on the all-time list of New York Rangers in the book ‘100 Ranger Greats’, Phil Esposito played his best seasons as a Bruin in Beantown, with the Stanley Cup along with the Art Ross, Lester B. Pearson and Hart Memorial all won during his time in Boston in the early-1970s. We have a signed stick used during this period by the HOF superstar, circa 1972-74. A Northland Custom Pro model, “Esposito” is stamped over the upper shaft, with additional stamps present over each side from supplier Woody Dumart. A factory code of “0955” also appears on the underside, with the stick retaining its original black tape over the blade and white cloth-style tape over the handle/knob. The striping accent is also partially intact, held in place currently with clear tape.
Phil has signed over the upper shaft in black marker, and the signature displays especially well. It should also be noted that a pair of small holes are present over the upper shaft and near the heel section, with these made to accommodate mounting. Heavy use is exhibited on the stick, with considerable wear to the blade including the underside, along with puck and stick marks to the lower shaft and wear to the factory graphics. There is also some very minor chipping to the top toe section of the blade.
