Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Lumber used by players that have all proudly donned the famous CH emblem of the Montreal Canadiens, this lot offers 8 game-used sticks from former Habs players, with Rod Langway, Pete Mahovlich (x2), Pierre Bouchard and Brian Savage included for you to consider. A mix of Koho (Langway), Sher-Wood (Mahovlich), Victoriaville (Bouchard) and Bauer (Savage) models, each stick sports the player’s respective name and intact original tape job over the handles/knobs and blades, though it is worth mentioning for accuracy that the blade tape of the Savage example has been removed at some point and that the former outline of it is still very much visible and the knobs of both Mahovlich sticks do differ from what is commonly seen. All unsigned and exhibiting excellent game-use throughout their entireties, both Mahovlich stick have either broken and/or cracked blades and there is a small chip in the bottom of the Savage blade as well. We should further note that these may have been used with teams others than the Canadiens with the one Mahovlich stick likely a post-career example or one used by him during his one year stint as a member of the Toledo Goaldiggers of the IHL during the 1985-86 season.
