Excellent and undamaged Sher-Wood stick game-issued in 1974-75 for AHL Springfield Indians captain Mark Heaslip (with “M. Heaslip” stamped on the upper shaft) is nicely signed in clear green ballpoint pen at the top of the shaft by legendary HOFer Eddie Shore (ind. 1947, dec. 1985). Shore owned the Indians from 1939-40 to 1975-76, although there were 2 hiatuses during his ownership – 1942 to ’46 when the U.S. Army took over the Springfield rink, and from 1951 to 1954 when the club operated out of Syracuse. Mark Heaslip would enjoy several stints in the NHL – 1976-77 when he suited up for 19 games with the New York Rangers, 1977-78 when he laced up for 29 Rangers games, and 1978-79 when he was with the Los Angeles Kings for 69 games. The stick remains in great shape with accent stripes fully intact and only some age darkening to note.
