Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Goaltender Bill Ranford, who emerged as a bonafide star with the Edmonton Oilers in the very early-90s, used this Sher-Wood after first being a two-time Stanley Cup team member in 1988 and again in 1990, a year that also saw him awarded the prestigious Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. With Bill’s original white tape on the blade and knob, this gamer, with “Ranford 30” stamped on the shaft, has some great puck marks on the blade and upwards, and with damage to note that includes a worn and cracked bottom of the blade, a wood chip on the paddle at the accent stripe, plus a smaller one further up. All in all, a fine early-90s gamer from an excellent netminder who would see action in an impressive 647 regular season games, and comes complete with an LOA from Classic Auctions.
