Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

Goaltender Mike Liut began his stellar NHL career with the St. Louis Blues in the 1979-80 season and it was most likely very early in his career with the Blues that he handled this Sher-Wood goalie stick offered here. From a large St. Louis Blues stick collection obtained by Classic Auctions, this Liut gamer retains its original black tape on the blade and white on the knob and above the paddle, and shows “Liut 1” stamped on the upper shaft. Game use from his glove shows near the top of the shaft, and a smaller amount of pucks marks are scattered about. A great game-used goaltender’s stick with only a 4” chip on the heel to note condition-wise. Liut would suit up for 5 ½ seasons with the Hartford Whalers after his 5+ years in St. Louis, with the Washington Capitals being his final destination from 1990 to ’92.
