Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Great signatures on some very cool items, beginning with a full length and completely black, unmarked, and unused hockey stick with a colored image of HOFer Adam Oates on the blade, nicely signed alongside in gold marker by Oates. Joining this are 2 unused Russian sticks, beautifully signed on the blade of one in black marker by Pavel Bure, and on the other (also in black marker), by Sergei Fedorov. Next, a terrific 15 ½” x 19 ¼” photo of “The Goal”, Bobby Orr’s Stanley Cup winner in 1970 against the St. Louis Blues, signed in clear blue marker by Orr as “To Brad, Best of Luck, Bobby Orr”, while goaltender and fellow HOFer Glenn Hall has signed in black marker and added “HOF/75”. This piece, in a combined b&w and off-color, has been mounted on foam backboard. Bobby Hull has signed in clear black marker as “Bobby Hull #7, The Golden Jet” on a 21” x 28” thick wood and laminated illustration of Hull with son Brett, numbered on the bottom left corner as “51/300”, and in nice condition with a few bumps and bruises to the border edges. A 16” x 20” b&w action shot of Gordie Howe (unsigned) comes with a 1993-94 Parkhurst “Missing Link ’56-57” card in excellent condition, signed in fine fashion by Howe using clear blue marker. HOFer Marcel Dionne has signed an 11” x 17” b&w illustration of himself using clear blue marker, with some corner pinholes, some creasing, and faint dirt to note. An amazing camera shot of Mike Bossy in 1984 Canada Cup action against the Soviets measures a huge 21” x 33’ mounted on foam board, and signed by Bossy at the bottom in black marker as “Overtime winner Canada Cup 1984, Mike Bossy 22”. Bossy’s handwriting is clear and legible, although some paling has occurred on some of the lettering. Joining these is a Quaker State 4x4 Legends illustrated picture of Gordie Howe (9” x 11 ½”), nicely signed in blue ink by Gordie. A 3 ¼” x 5 ¼” colored action shot of Mike Bossy (with photographer Denis Brodeur’s name stamped on the back), has been signed in dark blue marker by Bossy who has added “50 goals, 50 games Jan. 24-81”. Signed 8” x 10” photos are from Bryan Trottier, Mikael Renberg, Bronco Horvath, Jay Bouwmeester, Bert Olmstead, and Nathan Horton, all nicely signed in marker and all in terrific condition. A couple of 8” x 10” pictures are mounted in mattes and include a great shot of a smiling Steve Yzerman wearing goalie equipment of all things, signed in blue by Steve, plus a Jaromir Jagr action shot signed in black by Jagr. From the Tampa Bay Lightning’s inaugural 1992-93 season are 7 sheets of unused home game tickets, 41 in all, and all in great condition, and lastly, a HHOF display sign measuring 19 ¼” x 21 ½” mounted on foam board and although it shows scatterings of dirt throughout, remains in good overall condition.
