Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
A couple of early NHL teams that would eventually cease operations due to money problems, the Ottawa Senators, who would move to St. Louis in 1934 (although they would return in 1992), and the New York Americans, whose demise happened in 1942, are featured here on this 1926 mini paper display showing the teams and management, along with Lou Marsh and a couple of other referees. Measuring 6 ¾” x 16 ¼”, this relic includes faint stains on the front, some strips of old tape remain on the yellowed back, and there is evidence of it being cut along the edges, leading us to wonder if this had once been a bigger piece. Really neat 90-year old picture of 2 great old teams.
