The Buffalo Sabres came up with a unique way for their original season ticket holders to commemorate the team’s NHL debut in 1970. This spectacular limited edition Wilkinson sword is one of the amazing keepsakes that were presented back in the day to the original Sabres 1970-71 inaugural season ticket holders. “To commemorate the entry of the Buffalo Sabres into the N.H.L., 1970 Coach – Punch Imlach” is engraved on the shiny blade’s silver finish with Sabres logos on either side. Number "0540" is stamped on the top edge of the blade just below the hilt of the gilded handle. This awesome sword remains in superb condition with no rust to its lovely silver finish.
There are no long scratches to the blade’s silver finish and just a few specks of paint loss and light scuffing. “By appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Sword Cutlers, Wilkinson Sword, London, Made in England” is engraved on the blade just below the hilt.
